New Technology is ‘the cat’s meow’ |
McClung's Animal Hospital has added laser therapy to its treatment options to increase the facility's ability to provide relief of pain, inflammation and swelling associated with injuries, trauma, surgery and everyday disorders.
The Companion Therapy Laser is a laser that delivers a large amount of light energy into the body at the point of injury.
"We added the therapy laser to our practice to complement our existing treatments and to enhance patient quality of life by serving as an additional method of relieving pain and promoting healing," said Brad McClung.

Canine Influenza Virus - Hospital News Release |
Canine influenza (CIV) is a newly emerging infectious disease caused by a “flu” virus. In dogs, a highly contagious strain of the influenza A virus known as H3N8 is able to cause respiratory illness. This virus only affects dogs, and those dogs that are young or old are most vulnerable. A new flu vaccine arrived on the market this summer, and developer Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health says it significantly reduces the duration and severity of symptoms and dramatically curbs the flu’s spread.

At first sight |
A loving home and the gift of sight brought back the pep in one local pup's personality.
Chubs, a pomeranian owned by Tiffin resident Suzanne Englehart, is friendly, inquisitive, and full of spunk. What is normal pom behavior is a far cry from what Englehart saw when Chubs came to her home several months ago with his mother, Weezy.
"They were both rescue dogs, abandoned in a trailer court," Englehart said. "The group, Saints Elsewhere, were the ones that had him."
She said she had been searching the Web, on Pet Finders, looking for a pomeranian, and saw a female, Weezy, was available. Englehart then set up an appointment to see her, to consider adopting her.

Numbers in overall production, surgeries, boarding and grooming, new clients and new pets have been climbing since the start of the year at McClung's Animal Hospital in Tiffin
In January, the business was expected to begin about the same as it did in 2008, but as time passed, the animal hospital became busier, said Cathy McClung, wife of Dr. Brad McClung
"If you have a good business, it is not by luck or chance and we all understand that," Cathy said. "You will never find a harder worker who is more committed to, or conscientious of his work, than Dr. Brad. His support staff sees that and follows suit, learning by example."
